inSerious question, I had a contractor in Boise tell me to always paint trim before installing it, but my dad swears you do it after.
Actually, taping the back edge for glue is a bad idea. You want the glue to bond to the wood, not paint. Just paint the face and top edges, leave the back bare. The touch-up after install is for the nail holes and any scuffs from handling, not a full coat.

inI set up my desk facing a blank wall for two years because I thought it was 'professional'
My old office in Seattle had a similar setup. I thought facing the door was the "right" way, but it just made me jumpy. Flipping my desk to face the window was a total game changer for my focus.

inJust realized my sourdough starter was flat because I was using filtered water from my fridge.
It's wild how we overcomplicate things trying to fix them. My grandma's bread was perfect with plain tap water, and we've spent years buying special filters and bottled stuff. Sometimes the old way just works because it's already balanced for the local environment.

inMy uncle told me to always run a separate 22/4 for the siren, never share the power loop. He was right.
Been there, done that, bought the new circuit board.

inCan we talk about a clause I saw in a contract template about 'killing fees'?
Yeah, @ivanp78 has a point. Used to be all about the flat fee, but billing for hours already worked just makes more sense. Otherwise you're eating that cost for nothing.
