Shaping a small hill for sledding with the dozer was a blast this winter.

It took a few hours, but seeing the kids enjoy it was totally worth it. Plus, I got to practice my precision grading.

Remember when we tried to build that perfect little sledding track last year? We smoothed it out so much it was basically an ice sheet by noon. The kids wiped out hard and went right back to playing on the lumpy side where the snow stuck better. Now I leave some rough patches on purpose. They make better jumps anyway.

My precision grading usually ends up looking like a toddler's sandbox (which, to be fair, is still fun). Your kids are lucky!

Yeah I used to get so annoyed when my grading got messy like that. Always wanted those perfect smooth lines. But seeing how my nephew plays changed my mind completely. Those little tire tracks from my skid steer became his favorite roads for toy trucks. And the piles of loose dirt I saw as a problem? He spent hours digging in them. Made me realize a perfect job isn't always the best one for fun.

Honestly, why stress over perfect lines when @henryr45's nephew proved messy dirt is more fun anyway.
