Yeah, that loose panel screw thing is such a common fix. My unit was making this awful rattling last spring. I went over every panel with a screwdriver and found one on the lower access door was almost completely out. Tightening that single screw made it dead quiet again. What kind of sound was yours making?

My buddy Mark had the same weird rattle in his unit last summer, a low hum turning into a buzz on windy days. Ever wonder if the screw holes get worn out over time from all that vibration? Like maybe the metal strips a little each season until it just can't hold tight. Could explain why it keeps coming loose on the same panel.
