Showerthought: Saw a shift to bands handling their own album art

Noticed a lot of newer groups are doing their own cover designs instead of hiring out. I picked up some basic graphic design skills from watching online tutorials, and it's been a fun side project.

The 1975's last album cover was self made and looked kinda messy tbh. Just because you do it yourself doesn't always mean it's more real, a pro designer can still get your vision.

Oh man, I'm with @anna681 on this one. Just because you make it yourself doesn't mean it looks good, it often just looks cheap. Some of these covers look like a five year old went wild with clip art.
