Shoutout to the drill bit that snapped mid-project yesterday

I was drilling into a brick wall to hang shelves in my garage when the bit just broke off around 7pm. Ended up spending an hour trying to get the broken piece out with pliers and a screw extractor. Anyone here ever have a cheap bit fail on them and switch to a better brand?

Betcha that was a Harbor Freight special, right? Those bits are great if your real hobby is buying new bits.

Read somewhere those bits have a 50/50 chance of snapping on first use. @lucashenderson is probably right about the real hobby being returns.
