Funny, hiding your rates upfront usually filters out cheap clients too.

That phrase "filters out cheap clients" is interesting because I think it goes both ways. When you don't post rates, you're also filtering out clients who are just starting out or running tight budgets who might actually respect your value once they hear your pitch. I had a client recently who nearly skipped my page because there were no prices listed, but once we talked they ended up paying way more than I originally would have quoted if I had just put a flat rate up. So hiding rates might scare off the wrong people too, not just the cheap ones. It's like you're filtering out potential long term relationships just to avoid a few lowball emails in your inbox.

Yeah that's pretty much what happened with me... I started hiding my rates for a while cause I thought it would weed out the tire kickers, but I actually lost a couple of really good clients who just wanted a quick yes or no before reaching out. Once I put a simple range up, the right people started messaging me and the cheap ones still found ways to waste my time anyway. So honestly, you kind of gotta try both ways and see which one brings in the people you actually want to work with long term.
