Pricing strategy I picked up from a strict team lead

My last team lead was really tough on details. She taught me to always check comparable sales from the last three months. For example, when I listed a condo, I found recent sales that were similar but had higher prices because of updates. This helped me set a competitive price that drew buyers quickly. Now, I set a rule to review new data before every listing. It saves time and stops price drops later. Clients like the accuracy, and it helps my sales.

Got burned once when I didn't check for a month... prices tanked right after I listed. Now I'm paranoid and check every week, which is probably overkill.

That fear of getting burned again is so real. I see it when people triple-check their door locks after a break-in scare. @fox.david's question about market shifts in a month shows how hard it is to find the right balance. We end up in this loop of overchecking to feel safe, but it eats up so much mental energy.

Consider if weekly checks are making you too focused on short term noise. You might react to every little drop instead of seeing the overall trend. Like my buddy who tracks gas prices daily, he always feels ripped off but never saves much. That constant looking can trick you into thinking you're in control when really it's just stress. Stepping back to monthly checks could help you spot real shifts without the panic. Your past burn taught you to watch, but now it might be clouding your judgment.

Yeah it's that fear of getting burned again that makes us overcorrect. I see it all the time, not just with prices but things like checking the weather ten times before a trip or re-reading emails a dozen times before sending. @willowgreen your story is a perfect example of how one bad experience can totally rewire our habits, even when we know it's too much. Our brains just latch onto that one time things went wrong. Do you ever feel like you can't relax until you've done that weekly check now?

What if the market shifts in just a month though?
