Rant: My sci-fi marathon messed up my sleep for a week

I binged a whole season of a space opera series last weekend and stayed up way too late each night. My normal sleep pattern got completely thrown off, and I felt groggy all week at work. It made me think about how sci-fi shows often have characters who never seem to need rest. Has anyone else had their health routines disrupted by getting too into a sci-fi universe? What do you do to balance watching these shows with taking care of yourself? I'm curious if other fans have tips for managing sleep when a new series drops.

Why do good stories always wreck our sleep schedules?

Actually, the best stories sometimes help you fall asleep!

Stories can be tricky for sleep, but I found a way to make them work. I started using a sleep timer on audiobooks (it turns off after a bit) so I'm not tempted to keep listening. Now I fall asleep easier without the guilt of missing the story.

The Expanse marathon forced me to start using sleep timers.
