Rant: Tried the "Pomodoro with a twist" trick where you work 25 minutes then do 5 minutes of pushups, and it actually killed my 3 hour afternoon slump

I was crashing hard around 2pm every day on my home office in Phoenix, so I swapped my usual coffee break for a quick workout timer, but now I'm wondering if the physical energy boost is worth losing 5 minutes of billable time each hour has anyone else tried replacing breaks with movement and seen a real difference?

You're out here doing pushups during your workday, and I'm over here considering a nap every 45 minutes like it's a professional sport. Congrats on being productive while the rest of us are just trying not to drool on our keyboards. Five minutes of billable time gone forever, but hey, at least your arms look great while you're falling behind on that spreadsheet. Honestly though, props for finding a way to sweat through the afternoon slump instead of just scrolling through Reddit like a normal person. Maybe I'll try it tomorrow and see if I end up with abs or just a new way to avoid my boss's emails.

So you're saying the pushups are really just a sophisticated way of dodging emails? I gotta ask - at what point does the 'afternoon slump' become an actual medical condition? Because I'm pretty sure my 3pm nap is less of a choice and more of a biological imperative.

Society traded afternoon naps for hustle culture, and look where that got us.
