The day I went full boomer by printing out 50 pages at the library instead of paying for a printer
Last Tuesday my home printer decided to eat my invoice template for the third time and I had a stack of receipts that needed scanning and a contract that needed signing that day. Library is two blocks away, cost me $1.25 total for the prints. I have no idea why I put up with ink cartridge scams for so long. Has anyone else just given up on owning a printer and switched to library runs?

lol the "ink cartridge scams" part is so real. I feel like owning a printer is just signing up for a lifelong subscription to tiny, overpriced plastic rectangles full of anxiety. Library runs are honestly the move, it's like society's collective secret backup printer.

Printers are cheap upfront for a reason, you pay for the convenience of having one at 2am when the library is closed.

Library closes at 9pm here. 2am paper panic is real. That convenience fee is worth it when you're printing boarding passes at 3am for a 6am flight.
Ink subscription plans are dumb though. Just buy a laser printer. Toner lasts years even with moderate use. My Brother printer has been going strong since 2019. One toner cartridge still going.
People hate on printers but having one saves me dozens of library trips per year. Gas money alone makes it worth owning.
