That sinking feeling when your bank statement doesn't match your invoice log
Sitting in a Starbucks off I-5 last month, I noticed three invoices I marked 'paid' never actually cleared, about $1,800 total, because I trusted the email confirmation instead of checking my bank app. I spent a full afternoon calling each customer and had to re-send two of them with a late fee attached, so now I reconcile every Sunday morning like clockwork. Anyone else get burned by trusting the client's word over your own records?

Tbh, that Sunday check is the only reason I caught three duplicate payments last month, so I feel you. Once you start treating the bank app like the source of truth instead of the invoice, it saves so much headache.

Thursday's actually the better day, duplicates usually clear by then.
