My first program went from 200 lines of spaghetti to 50 clean lines after I finally understood functions.

Oh wow, a whole 150 lines saved? Let's be real, most of my early code was just the same five lines copied and pasted with different variable names. Functions are neat but it's not like you discovered fire. Next you'll tell me using a loop was a life changing event.

My flight got canceled in Denver and I was stuck with a $400 hotel bill

My strategy is just to bring a sleeping bag and claim a spot by the charging stations. The Denver airport floor is surprisingly comfortable after the third hour. I've become an expert at spotting the cleanest carpet squares. It's a free upgrade to what I call "terminal camping," and the vending machine dinner really adds to the experience.

Overheard a kid at the mall say he got his first card with a $500 limit

Used to believe you needed a huge limit to start building credit. My first card was a secured one with a $200 limit, felt kinda lame at the time. But keeping the balance low and paying it off every month actually boosted my score faster than I expected. It forced me to be careful with spending from the start. Now I see a small limit as a good way to learn without getting in over your head.

Remember when you could fix a TV by just tapping the side of the cabinet?

Ever hear about the guy who fixed a flickering monitor by just reseating the cable? My friend did that after seeing @uma659 talk about simple fixes, and it actually worked for his old setup. It's wild how those older connections just get loose over time.

Pro tip: Forging each shoe by hand is better than grabbing factory ones

Funny thing is, a bad shoe fit can mess up a horse's back over time too. Like a bad tire throwing a car's alignment off, but way slower.
