inThat old timer's rod trick for serrated blades worked a charm
That method always seems like more trouble than it's worth to me. Getting the angle just right on each little tooth is a real pain, and it's way too easy to mess up the profile if your hand slips even a little. For the time it takes, I'd rather just use a cheap pull through sharpener made for serrations and call it a day. Seems like a lot of fuss for a result that never feels quite as good as a pro job anyway.

inHeads up, my salon's push for add-ons is backfiring big time
Sounds rough but maybe she kept the better half.

inBack when we ran machines by feel, I tipped a scraper trying to show off. Boss still brings it up.
Yeah, that line about mistakes sticking with you more than bosses really hits home lol. I can recall every dumb error I made early on, but my boss from that job is just a blur. What is it about those moments that gets glued in your brain forever? Is it the shame or just how much you learned the hard way?

inBack in the day, we never asked where the stones came from
Did a friend ever try that "want to know more" question with a client? She said reading @umahenderson gave her the nerve to ask, and the client actually said yes and thanked her later.

inPSA: The city crew on Elm Ave leaves their loaders idling for hours, it's ridiculous.
Actually, just read something scary about diesel fumes... they're way worse for you than regular car exhaust. All those tiny particles get deep in your lungs and can cause real problems over time. @haydenthomas is right to be annoyed about that loader idling for hours, because it's pumping out that bad air non-stop. Kids and older folks in the neighborhood are probably breathing that in all day. It's not just about noise, it's about what's in the air you're breathing... seems like someone should really do something about it. Like, turn the thing off when it's not doing any work.
