My bike's squeaky chain is gone thanks to dish soap

That noise was so annoying every time I pedaled, lmao. I tried bike oil first, but it made things worse. After some digging, I found out dish soap can loosen gunk, so I tried it. Now my rides are silent, and I feel pretty clever. Has anyone else used weird household stuff for fixes?
