I watched a freelancer's whole approach flip in 6 weeks flat

I had a buddy who used to charge $35 for basic logo work and he was always scrambling for gigs. Then he switched to a niche market - pet businesses specifically - and started charging $175 per project. He got 3 clients in the first week after updating his portfolio, and now he's booked out for two months. Has anyone else seen a big change after narrowing their focus like that?

Oh man this is such a real thing. It's like the whole "putting a label on something makes people value it more" thing we see everywhere. Like how a taco place that says "authentic street tacos" can charge double the one that just says "tacos" or whatever. It's the same basic burger at a fancy restaurant versus a diner, people pay extra for the story. Your buddy found his story with pet businesses and now it clicks for clients. It's wild how just picking a lane and owning it changes everything from how you present yourself to how people see your worth. Makes me wonder how many people are underselling themselves just because they're too general.

You're absolutely right, it's such a common thing. So many people are just out there being "general me" when picking a specific lane could change everything for them.

@the_elizabeth actually "authentic street tacos" differ, not just a story. Real handmade tortillas vs. factory ones.
