Spent a whole day tracing a weird vibration on a Cessna 172 last week
Turns out it was a loose screw on the cowling flap hinge, not the engine at all, has anyone else chased a phantom issue like that for way too long?

Chased an electrical gremlin on a Cub for three days once. Turned out to be a grounding strap that looked fine but wasn't making contact. Drove me nuts.

Buddy of mine had the exact same thing happen on a Super C, @val974. Swapped parts for a week before he found that stupid strap was just barely loose.

Nah @val974, grounding straps are usually the first thing I check, not something that takes three days to find.
