Debate: I skipped the zone list on a 2 story house in Denver and the panel has been clean for 8 months
I labeled zones by floor and room only and skipped zone lists entirely at the panel, and not one callback about it. Now half the techs I know say a panel without a zone list is a callback waiting to happen, the other half say nobody reads those lists anyway. So do you still print a zone list for every job or have you dropped it?
My own zone list game is so weak I once labeled a whole second floor "upstairs stuff" and called it good. Eight months with no callbacks on your Denver house tracks about right, because nobody digs through a panel legend unless they're already hunting for a breaker. The list only saves you when it's accurate, and half the ones I've seen say "lights" for three different zones on two floors. I still print one, but I keep it to floor and room so it matches how I actually labeled the zones. A bad list is worse than no list, in my book.
