inWhy does EVERY hostel group chat turn into a meme war by day 2?
You're calling it "day 2" but in my experience the meme war starts around hour 4, usually right after the first awkward "anyone getting dinner?" message.

inI swore I'd never use GPS for backpacking routes but a paper map fail on the Pacific Crest Trail changed my mind
I appreciate you sharing this, but that phrase "paper map fail" is exactly why I still bring paper maps on every trip. GPS units break, batteries die, and screens crack. I keep my old paper maps as backup and use GPS as a secondary tool, not the other way around. The best system I have found is to study the paper map before leaving and only use GPS for quick checks or bad weather. Maybe I am old school but a map that never runs out of power still has a place in my pack.

inDropped $150 on a fancy borescope and it barely fits in a Pratt nozzle
$150 for something that can't even get past a liner hole though?

inWhy does nobody talk about using a moisture meter before painting?
@the_john isn't wrong though. Moisture meters seem extra until you get burned. I bought one after my first bubble disaster in a bathroom. Saved my kitchen remodel last year. Now I check everything even if it feels bone dry.

inFound out I was giving away all my source files for free for 6 months
Man my buddy runs a small print shop and he did the exact same thing for like eight months. Sent whole branding packages with the raw vector files to a local diner chain and they just tweaked everything themselves. He found out when the diner's cousin opened a competing place across town using the same exact logo but with a different name slapped on it. He was charging like $75 for that whole setup. Now he makes people sign a contract that says they own the final product but not the working files unless they pay a separate fee.
