My sketchbook is full of arrows and quick character panels from Attack on Titan. It stops me from blanking on plot twists when our club meets up. Your visual aid idea is basically the upgraded version of my messy system.

The visual aid thing sounds like too much work for me. I just talk about whatever stuck in my head after watching, like @anna717's messy panels but without the drawing part. My memory's terrible, so I rely on everyone else to fill in the blanks.
