Rant: found out a 12 episode season only gets about 280 minutes of actual story, and it wrecked how I watch
Ngl I was on the AniList forums last Tuesday reading a thread about pacing and someone broke down the math. A standard 12 episode season is roughly 24 minutes per episode, but once you cut the OP, ED, recap, and preview you are left with maybe 18 to 20 minutes of real content. So the whole season is only about 3.5 to 4 hours of story total, which is shorter than most movies. I pulled up two shows I binged in a weekend and sure enough, the actual plot could fit in a long afternoon. Now when a show stretches one fight across four episodes I just sit there thinking about that number. Did anyone else do this math on their own backlog, or am I the only one who ruined it for myself?
