inSaw a guy in Phoenix use a laser level for a whole tile floor and it blew my mind
That setup time is the only thing I'd push back on a little. For a 400 square foot floor, getting a laser level perfectly square to the room and then marking all those lines would take me more than five minutes. Maybe fifteen to twenty to do it right. But you're totally correct that it saves way more time than it costs. The real win is not having that tiny error from your first chalk line multiply across the whole room.

inUnpopular opinion: The default layer colors in AutoCAD are a trap for new drafters
Actually, the line weights in a PDF come from the plot style table, not the layer colors. A red line and a blue line on the same plot style will print the same. The real trap is not setting up a proper CTB or STB file that assigns correct weights to colors or styles.

inGot called out on my umbilical handling last month
Wait, you were coiling it like a garden hose on a real dive job? That's wild. Thomas.river, a tight coil on a pin is fine for dock line, not an umbilical under load. The over-under method exists for a reason, to stop those exact twists.

inSpent about $300 on a shared calendar tool for my small team and it's already paying off.
Right? It's just a grid of dates. The whole point is we're all looking at different pages, that's how time works. Feels like marketing people got ahold of a basic idea and tried to make it sound deep. What's next, a to-do list that brings us closer as a species?

inMy coworker called 'Attack on Titan' a simple revenge story, and it stuck with me
Finding the politics made it feel like a real world, not just a cartoon.
