Can we talk about how I was reading capacitor ratings wrong for 6 whole months
I was swapping a run cap on a fridge compressor out in Gilbert last Tuesday and the thing kept short cycling after I buttoned it up, which made no sense since the part was a direct match. Pulled it back apart and finally noticed I had been reading the microfarad number off the old cap by the top line only, ignoring that the second number was the actual rating I needed to match. Six months of callbacks on units I thought were fixed, all because I trusted the first number I saw instead of checking both lines. Now I snap a pic of every old cap before it goes in the trash, and my callback rate on those jobs dropped from three a month to zero. Anybody else get burned by something this dumb, or am I the only one who needs a picture to do basic reading?

Wait, you were only reading the FIRST line for SIX MONTHS and never once glanced at the second? That means every single cap you swapped in was the wrong rating and somehow most of them still ran, which is honestly kind of amazing.
