Just figured out I've been pruning oak trees all wrong
For about 5 years I was cutting oak limbs flush with the trunk, thinking that was cleaner. A guy from the county extension office saw me working near Austin and said I was leaving too big a wound and missing the branch collar. Which side of the pruning debate do you fall on, flush cuts or collar cuts?
