Getting it in writing isn't just about trust... it's about clarity. A written outline stops small mix-ups from turning into big problems later. So even with good clients, a quick email summary can save a lot of hassle.

Funny how we treat work deals differently than personal stuff. Like I'd never split a big dinner bill without checking the math first, same as @the_eva says to get it in writing. The trust is there with a good client, but writing just makes sure you both remember the math the same way later.
