Never thought about it as a pattern tracker before. A logbook can show you weird stuff over months, like one machine always needing a little more torque on the same bolt. Turns out it was a tiny bit of wear in the fixture that nobody would have noticed without the written record. That kind of slow drift gets missed when you're just going by feel.

Back in high school, my buddy and I checked every wooded lot in the county. I managed to trip over a log and faceplant instead of finding anything cool. My luck is just SPECIAL that way.
