PSA: My $40 'professional' pruning shears snapped on the second branch last Saturday

Had to finish trimming the live oak in my backyard with a rusty pair of hedge clippers from 2010 because the blade pin on the new Felco knockoff broke clean in half, so has anyone else had luck with the actual Felco brand or should I just go back to using loppers?

Saw a gardening forum post saying the real Felco shears last for years if you oil them.

Buddy had the same thing happen with cheap shears last month.

Felco shears are way overpriced for what they are. I grabbed a $20 pair from the hardware store three years ago and they still cut fine, never oiled them once. That buddy probably left his shears out in the rain or tried cutting branches way too thick for them. The whole "you get what you pay for" thing falls apart when quality brand stuff breaks just as easy. Most people just don't clean their tools and blame the price tag.
