The exact moment my shop vac caught fire in the garage and I just stood there staring at it
I was in the middle of cleaning up after routing a countertop in Youngstown when the motor literally started smoking and I realized I'd been running it without the filter for 45 minutes, which taught me to check the manual before assuming I know how something works - has anyone else had a tool fail in a way that was entirely your own fault?

Ran my table saw for an hour with the blade going backward once.

The real trick is making sure you're using the right type of blade for the direction, @cora813... I learned that one the hard way when my dado stack started smoking.
