Tried a cheap digital caliper after 10 years of guessing, huge difference

I finally replaced my rusty old dial caliper with a $25 digital one from the hardware store in Dayton. Measuring a 1 inch bushing took me 5 seconds instead of squinting at tick marks and double checking myself. The accuracy is down to 0.001 inches, which honestly matters more than I thought for the tolerances I deal with. Has anyone else switched from analog to digital and noticed they trust their measurements way more now?
