Spent 7 days on a fender once. That invisible work is what keeps the car from rusting out in two years. The customer might not see it now, but they'll feel it later.

Remember those vintage jeans people pay extra for because the fading looks natural, not perfect. But if we're talking about a picture frame being half a centimeter off level, literally nobody will notice after five minutes. The stress over invisible details often matters more to the person making the thing than to anyone actually using it. It starts to feel like solving problems nobody really has.
