Question about the new clear coat I saw on a job in Boise

I was at a shop in Boise last week checking out a friend's project. He was spraying a new water-based clear coat on a classic truck. The finish looked amazing, but he mentioned it needed a full 24 hours to cure before any wet sanding. That's a lot longer than the stuff I usually use. Has anyone else worked with this type of clear and found a way to speed up the process without messing up the gloss?

Oh man, my buddy rushed a water-based clear once. He tried a heat lamp to speed things up and it totally clouded up. Some things you just gotta wait for.

Ugh, that reminds me of when I tried to bake clay in the oven to hurry it along. Let's just say I learned my lesson the hard way.

Yeah, the "full 24 hours" thing is the universe's way of teaching us patience... or maybe just selling more coffee. After what happened to @charlesschmidt's buddy with the heat lamp, I'm good with just letting the stuff sit. Rushing it seems like a great way to turn a glossy finish into a frosted window.
