Saw a really clean paint match on a 90s Civic at the Puyallup Fair

It was a factory green that usually fades, but this one looked perfect. The owner said he mixed a bit of clear into the base for the final coat. Anyone have thoughts on that method?

Actually makes a lot of sense for a color like that. It adds depth and protects the base from fading so fast. Guy was just solving the problem before it started.

Tried that trick on my old Miata, kept the red from going pink for years.
