Switched from Bondo to metal glaze on door dings after a job in Phoenix
I used to just grab the regular filler for every little door ding and quarter panel dent, but after a '68 Chevelle came through my shop in Phoenix last spring I made the switch to metal glaze for anything shallow. The glaze sets up in like 15 minutes instead of waiting 30 or more, and it feathers out way cleaner so I'm not sanding forever. It costs a bit more per tube but the time savings on a 3 panel job is worth it. Anybody else made the switch or still running straight filler for everything?
How does the glaze hold up when you get into a spot that needs a little more build, like a low spot that's deeper than a true skim coat? I've heard some guys say it can be a pain if you push it too thick, so I'm curious if you've run into that on the Chevelle panels. Also do you still keep regular filler around for the deeper stuff or did you drop it completely?
