Ignoring my wrist pain led to a costly mistake on a brake job

I pushed through the ache and mixed up the calipers, so now I'm out two hours and a customer, smh.

Yeah, pushing through pain is a trap. I did that last year with a sore shoulder and put a rotor on backwards. The "double-check calipers" advice is good, but honestly when my head is fuzzy from hurting, my checks are useless. Now if something aches, I just stop and come back later. It feels slow, but fixing a mistake takes ten times longer. My new rule is that pain means stop, no debate.

ALWAYS double-check calipers if you're in pain, saves SO much trouble.

Right, because nothing says "I'm on top of my health" like frantically measuring body fat while wincing in agony. Really ties the whole "wellness journey" together. Next you'll tell me to check my tire pressure if I sprain an ankle.

Oh, I read a thing about how pain messes with body comp measurements. It said when you're hurt, your body holds onto water differently, so caliper numbers can be way off. This one study found like a 5% difference in readings if someone was dealing with inflammation. Kinda makes the whole process useless until you're healed up.
