Am I the only one who thinks the dyno sheet means less than the butt dyno
I watched a guy at a shop in San Jose chase 8 horsepower on his WRX for three weekends straight. Every pull he would stare at the graph, adjust the boost controller, and pull again. The numbers kept creeping up but the car felt the same every time he took it down the street. I asked him when he actually drives it hard and he just looked at me funny. My own car never got a clean dyno number because of heat soak, but I know exactly how it pulls from 3rd into 4th on the ramp by my house. So now I tune by feel and check plugs, and the car is faster to me than any sheet says. Does anyone here still trust their own seat over the graph, or am I just old about this?
