Forget fancy camp meals, keep your food simple on the trail.
On my last backpacking route, I skipped the complex recipes and just brought oatmeal and jerky. I mean, it saved so much time and weight, and I actually enjoyed eating. Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else think overplanning food ruins the hike?
Totally get the food as adventure thing. My friend went to Vietnam and got this amazing pork dish from a street vendor, it had this fish sauce caramel glaze that sounds weird but was insane. She still talks about how that one meal changed how she sees travel.
