Rant: A washed-out bridge on the Eagle Rock Loop in Arkansas forced a 5-mile detour through dense brush.

Has anyone else had to reroute there recently?

That detour @ray215 mentioned sounds like a real safety issue, not just a nuisance. Makes you wonder if the park service has any plans to fix it before someone gets hurt.

Heard it was a footbridge that washed out, not a car bridge. Still a huge pain to go around though.

Used to think it was just a footbridge too. Ray's story about the actual trail bridge and that bushwhack sounds way worse. Makes the detour a real problem.

Wait, it's not just a footbridge. The whole crossing at Little Missouri is gone, the main trail bridge. That detour is brutal, basically bushwhacking up a steep slope. I did it last month and tore my pants on some thorns. Made a long day even longer.
