Just realized I've been planting my tomatoes way too close together for 3 summers
I was out watering last Saturday and noticed the leaves on my Better Boys were turning yellow and spotty, and the plants were basically smothering each other. Then I remembered the guy at the nursery on Route 9 said 24 inches apart back when I bought them, and I just ignored him and squeezed them in at like 12 inches. Pulled one out today and the roots were all tangled and shallow, plus I found early blight starting on the lower branches. Anyone else plant too tight and actually get a decent harvest anyway, or should I just start over with a bigger layout next spring?
