Just realized my neighbor's string light setup looks way better because he uses a 12 foot pole in each corner instead of just attaching them to the fence.
Saw it at his BBQ last weekend and now I'm redoing my whole patio lighting plan to get that same floating effect.

Yeah, those poles are a total game changer. I did the same thing last summer after seeing my cousin's setup, and it made my whole backyard feel bigger.

Those poles make a huge difference. Just make sure you get the kind that screw into the ground for stability.

Screw into the ground? That sounds like a huge hassle for a simple tent. You'd need to find soft enough dirt every single time you camp. What if you're at a rocky site or a campground with gravel pads? Seems like a good way to strip the threads or just not be able to set up at all. I'll stick with the basic pole and stake method.
