Hit 300 loaves sold at the farmers market in Fresno and I almost cried at my table
So I started selling sourdough at the Fresno farmers market about 14 months ago and honestly I was just hoping to cover my flour costs at first. This past Saturday I counted up my tally sheet and realized I'd sold loaf number 300 since I started and I just stood there behind my folding table kind of stunned. It's not a huge number compared to the big vendors who do 300 in a weekend but for me it felt like proof that the whole thing wasn't a fluke. My starter is named Doughlores and she's been with me through 3 apartment moves now, and hitting that number made all the 4am wake ups worth it. My wife took a picture of me holding up the empty bread basket like a trophy which is kind of embarrassing but I don't even care. The funny part is I only sold 4 loaves that whole morning so the milestone snuck up on me slowly. I'm wondering how you all keep track of stuff like this, do you count by batch or by month or just guess? I've just been marking tallies on the back of my price sign and it's getting messy.
