Found a cheap trick for cleaning my clippers that actually works better than the fancy sprays
So I was at the dollar store grabbing some snacks last month and saw a bottle of isopropyl alcohol for like 2 bucks. Figured why not try it on my clippers since I was tired of the spray getting gummy after a few days. I just pour a little in a cup, dip a toothbrush in there, and scrub the blades between cuts. It dries fast and cuts through all the hair oil and junk way better than any branded cleaner I have used. Plus it smells like nothing and my blades stay sharp longer because there is no sticky residue. Has anyone else tried this or got another cheap method that does the job better?

Hold on a second though, does the rubbing alcohol dry out the rubber grips or the plastic housing at all? I have an older set of Wahl clippers and I'm worried about the plastic getting brittle over time with repeated alcohol exposure. I've been using a little bit of mineral oil on a rag to wipe mine down, but it leaves them greasy for a while.

Oh great, so we're either greasy or brittle?
