Rant: Tried to hang my clippers on the wall and now I have a huge hole
I was SICK of my clippers always falling off the shelf, so I decided to mount them on the wall. I grabbed some screws and just went for it, but the drywall gave way and now there's a GAPING hole. Turns out, you need those plastic anchors for anything heavier than a picture frame. Had to patch it up with spackle and start over, which was a total pain. Now my setup is solid, but I wish I'd asked for advice first. How do you all keep your tools organized without wrecking your walls? Any tips for a clean look?

Learned that lesson the hard way myself. I once tried to mount a small shelf without anchors and the whole thing came down like a bad magic trick. My patch job looks like a toddler smoothed it over with a popsicle stick, so at least yours is probably neater.

Feel like I still have paint in my hair from mine. My wall ended up looking like some weird abstract art disaster.

Tell me about it, I've got more spackle in my hair than on my walls at this point. My first attempt looked so bad, I just hung a poster over it and pretended it never happened. I feel you, @matthewnelson, my patching skills are definitely popsicle stick grade too. Now I just use a big pegboard for everything, so all the holes are in one place and I can move stuff around without making new ones.
