Vent: My wrist has been killing me after a string of detailed haircuts
Hey folks, Rowan here. I've been getting this dull ache in my right wrist from all the scissor overhand work I did this week. It really flared up after I had three guys in a row who wanted super precise texture cuts. I tried icing it and taking more breaks, but it still feels tight and sore. Has anyone found stretches or tools that help with this? I'm kinda worried it could turn into a bigger issue if I ignore it, lol. How do you all handle the physical strain from standing and cutting all day?

Just surprised your wrist hurts after doing the same tiny motion a thousand times. It's like being shocked your foot aches after kicking a wall. Those texture cuts are murder on the joints. Maybe mix in a few buzz cuts next week to give your hand a vacation.

Oh man, I feel this in my bones! My left wrist gets wrecked after too much scissor work, especially on thicker hair. What finally helped me was doing these really simple wrist circles and stretches every single hour, even if I don't feel like I need it yet. I also got a cheap compression sleeve from the pharmacy to wear during long days, and it makes a noticeable difference. Definitely don't ignore that tight feeling, it's way easier to manage now than after it gets really bad.

Yeah, doing those wrist circles every hour like danielowens said is smart. I'd add doing a quick warm-up before you even start cutting, just rotating your wrists and opening and closing your hands a bunch. It sounds silly but getting the blood moving first really helps me on days with lots of repetitive stuff.
