That grease fire at the Memphis in May contest changed my whole setup
I watched a guy lose a $2,000 smoker in about 90 seconds because he didn't have a fire extinguisher within reach, and now I keep two within arm's length every cook - anyone else rethink their safety gear after seeing something like that?

Girl, SAME. I once almost set my patio on fire trying to char a pepper directly on the gas burner, and now I have a fire extinguisher strapped to my leg like a holster. I'm ready to save a brisket from a grease monster at a moment's notice. Safety third, but only after looking cool doing it.

Buddy of mine tried to light his kamado with lighter fluid once. Said the fireball was at least 8 feet tall and singed his eyebrows off. Now he just uses a torch like a normal person.
