Swapped my task list for a time block system and my brain stopped screaming at me
I used to write a to-do list every morning like a normal freelancer. But after 3 months of feeling guilty at 5pm because I only crossed off 2 out of 8 things, I tried something new. Now I block out specific hours for specific types of work. Like 9-11am is for client emails and quick edits, 11-12:30 is for deep writing, etc. It sounds simple but I actually finish what I plan now because I stop when the time is up instead of getting stuck on one task all day. Has anyone else found that switching up how you plan your day made a big difference?

Time blocking is honestly one of those things that seems too simple to work but it really does. I notice this same pattern everywhere - like how people who schedule their workouts actually go versus people who just say "I'll do it sometime today" and never do. There's something about setting hard boundaries for your time that just makes everything click.

Right, because apparently my brain needs a scheduled appointment just to finish a single task. Maybe I should time block my time blocking.

Yeah totally agree with @white.keith, my buddy tried time blocking after months of chaos and now he actually finishes projects.
