Chatted with a retired accountant at the library yesterday about late invoices

She told me I should add a 5% fee after 15 days and I laughed it off, but after she showed me a spreadsheet where she tracked her own payments back in the 80s, I started wondering if maybe I'm way too nice with my clients.

Ha, classic accountant move. Pulling out a spreadsheet from the 80s to prove a point is the most accountant thing ever. I bet she color coded it too. Honestly though, if that 5% fee gets one client to pay on time, it's probably worth the awkwardness.

Found an old spreadsheet my dad made in 1995 to track his fantasy football league. Hand typed in, every player, every week, color coded by division. He was so proud of it. Meanwhile we were all just using paper and pencils.
