Burned 30 hours on a show that got cancelled after 1 season
I got hooked on this sci-fi series called The Outpost last month. Binged the whole thing over two weeks, like 4am nights, the works. Then I look it up and it got cancelled after 13 episodes. Just dead. No ending, nothing. I wasted 30 hours of my life on a story that goes nowhere. Anyone else fall for a show that just stopped mid story?

Nah, I gotta push back on this a little. 30 hours of a show you loved enough to binge until 4am isn't wasted time, that was fun in the moment. The Outpost had some cool world building and characters, even if the ending is a cliffhanger. Plenty of shows with proper finales are total garbage, so at least you got a good ride while it lasted. Besides, the journey is the point, not just the destination.

Man, if I had a dollar for every show that left me staring at a blank screen after a cliffhanger ending, I'd have enough to fund a whole new season myself. @troyc17 must be an optimist hoping that show gets picked up somewhere else, but I've been burned too many times to fall for that again. The Outpost was solid while it lasted, no doubt, but there's something extra painful about investing in a story that just stops mid-sentence. At least with a bad finale you get some kind of closure, even if its terrible closure. The journey was fun, sure, but I'd still rather have a destination that doesn't feel like someone pulled the plug on the entire road trip.
