Finally figured out why my game group's meetups were fizzling out after 6 months straight

Turns out rotating through 5 different coffee shop locations was a bad idea, so now I'm sticking to one spot where the staff knows us and the Wi-Fi doesn't crash halfway through our Catan sessions, has anyone else dealt with venue hopping backfiring like that?

5 different coffee shop locations" is absolutely insane to me. I can't believe you guys were doing that for 6 months straight, that's so much extra planning for no reason. We did the venue hopping thing for a few weeks and it was a total nightmare, someone always forgot where we were meeting or showed up late. Sticking to one spot where the barista knows your order and you can leave your game supplies is a total game changer.

The bit about leaving game supplies really hit me. We used to do a rotating meetup thing and one time I left my whole D&D bag at a place we'd never been to before, had to go back the next day and beg the manager to check their lost and found. Never again.

Wait was that the same D&D group that lost a whole binder of character sheets at a Denny's? My buddy Mark from my old group did that once, totally different story but same kind of panic. @gray314 you're spot on about sticking to one spot, Mark's group switched to a regular diner after that and the waitress started keeping their dice bag behind the counter for them!
