My email got a weird login from a city I've never been to, and the backup question about my first pet's name was the only thing that stopped it. Has anyone else actually had a security question work when they needed it?

Saw a board game cafe in Seattle with a huge rulebook binder system

I was at Mox Boarding House in Seattle last weekend, and I noticed something kind of wild. They have this massive binder system for their game library, like a whole wall of them. Each binder is for a different game and has the rulebook, any expansions, and printed player aids. I mean, it must have been over 200 binders, easy. It's a cool idea to keep things organized, but it also felt like a lot. I watched a group spend like 15 minutes just flipping through pages trying to find a specific clarification for Terraforming Mars. It made me wonder if there's a better way for public game spaces to handle rules without making it a whole research project. Has anyone else seen a system that works better for a big public game collection?

PSA: I was crimping my RJ31X jacks with the wrong tool for two years until a customer's system kept dropping line voltage.

I finally realized my mistake when I compared my crimps under a magnifier to a proper one and saw the pins weren't seating fully, so what's your go-to method for testing phone line connections on a classic alarm panel?

Serious question, I was at the library in Boise and saw a guy signing a lease for a storage unit right at the counter.

He didn't read any of it, just flipped to the last page. Made me wonder how many people sign things without checking the liability clause. Do you always read the whole thing first?

I finally switched back to air nail guns for framing.

Most folks think cordless tools are always better these days. I stopped using battery nail guns for big jobs like framing. I went back to air nail guns about six months ago. The difference is clear in how fast we work. On a garage build last week, the air gun ran all day without a single stop. My old cordless one would have needed three battery swaps by lunch. This change cut our work time and kept the project moving smooth.
