I changed my tune on board game cafes after visiting one in my town

I thought they were just overpriced hangouts. The community there actually got me into new games.

Totally get that. Had the same thought before walking into one with a friend. The staff pointing out games you'd actually like makes it way more fun than just buying a box blindly. It turns a quiet night into a real event, doesn't it?

Was that your first visit? I find the staff suggestions can really miss the mark sometimes.

I used to skip staff suggestions too, thinking they'd be off. Trying one out on a whim completely changed my view, though.

Yeah, it's like that with a lot of things. I wrote off thrift stores for years, thought they were just junk. Then a friend dragged me in and I found a perfect jacket. Sometimes you just need that nudge from someone who knows the space.
