Overheard a guy at the game cafe say he only plays with the same four people

He said it's because they all learn at the same speed, which made me realize I get frustrated teaching new players. Does anyone else have a set group for that reason?

Ever think maybe some people just like the comfort of knowing exactly how their friends will act? It's not always about learning speed, it's about not having to guess who's gonna be a sore loser this time.

Oh man, I feel that in my bones. Trying to teach a new game while one person is on their phone and another keeps asking the same rule every turn is a special kind of torture. My regular group has an unspoken rule: if you don't get it by the second round, we're just playing and you'll figure it out. It saves so many friendships.

Your second round rule is a lifesaver for game night sanity.
